FinCalcs ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website at fincalcs.co. This Privacy Policy describes our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our service.

1. Information We Collect

Calculator data and browser storage: FinCalcs uses browser-side calculations and browser storage. Browser storage can retain financial inputs, saved results, checklists, notes and settings on your device. Financial information is not always confined to your device: account features and analysis requests can send it to online services.

Account features: When you are signed in, account features can send saved calculator inputs and results, checkup answers and score history, financial-planning entries, and document-checklist status and notes to Google Firebase Cloud Firestore. Some features save automatically: completing Financial Checkup starts an account save without a separate Save click. Account sign-in also sends available profile details, such as your name, email address and profile-image URL, to account storage.

Analysis requests: Submitting Mortgage Decision Assistant or Verdict analysis can send your entered financial information, including optional free text where provided, and calculated results to FinCalcs’ analysis endpoints. Requests include a browser identifier based on browser/device information and a browser-generated identifier, a membership-status flag, and your account identifier when available.

Recovering older browser data: In My Results and My Documents, you choose and confirm which older browser records to import. Selected saved results are added as copies; selected checklist entries replace the matching entries in your current checklist. Signed-in imports can also send the selected information to account storage. Importing leaves the original browser copies unchanged.

Log Data: When you visit our site, we may collect information your browser sends, including your IP address, browser type, referring pages, pages visited, time and date of visit, and time spent on pages. This data is collected through analytics services and is used to understand usage patterns and improve our service.

Contact Form: If you contact us through our form, we collect your email address, subject, and message content solely for the purpose of responding to your inquiry.

2. Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymous usage data including pages visited, time on site, and general geographic location. This information helps us improve our calculators and content. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.

3. Advertising & Cookies

FinCalcs currently does not serve Google AdSense ads or load the Google AdSense ad-serving script. Google Analytics, affiliate links, and sponsored content remain described separately in this policy. You can manage Google advertising preferences for other websites at Google Ad Settings.

Advertising services on third-party websites you choose to visit may use cookies and similar technologies under those websites' privacy policies. For information about industry advertising opt-outs, visit optout.networkadvertising.org or aboutads.info/choices.

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain features on our site.

4. Affiliate Links

Some links on FinCalcs are affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link and complete a qualifying action, we may earn a commission at no cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence our calculator results or editorial content. Affiliate links are identified where they appear.

5. Sponsored Content

FinCalcs may publish sponsored content from selected financial services companies. All sponsored content is clearly labeled as "Sponsored," "Paid Partnership," or "Advertisement." Sponsored content is reviewed for accuracy but represents the views of the sponsoring party. Sponsored placements do not appear within calculator tools and do not alter calculator results.

6. Third-Party Links

Our site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of external sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit through links on FinCalcs.

7. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed at anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it promptly. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

8. GDPR Compliance (EU Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You have the right to access, rectify, or delete your personal data; the right to restrict or object to processing; and the right to data portability. 9. CCPA Compliance (California Users)

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used; the right to request deletion of your personal information; and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We use commercially reasonable measures to protect information collected through our service. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted to or from our site.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Changes are effective immediately upon posting.
